Vicariate of Ústí nad Labem

Country : Czech Republic
Denomination : Roman Catholic
Diocese: Litoměřice

Established: ?

Arms (crest) of Vicariate of Ústí nad Labem

Official blazon

V modrém štítu stříbrně a červeně čtvrcený kříž provázený vpravo nahoře zlatou pětilistou růží se zlatým semeníkem a zlatými okvětními lístky. Vše převýšeno černým kněžským kloboukem se dvěma černými střapci.

Origin/meaning

The arms are derived from the arms of the Diocese of Litoměřice. The golden rose represents the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Ustí nad Labem. It is also the supposed coat of arms of the Slavnikid dynasty, from which St. Adalbert of Prague, the patron of another Ustí nad Labem church, originated.
