Durch Wellenlinie geteilt; in dem silbernen, oberen Feld ein goldverzierter, blauer Richterhut, über zwei gekreuzten, blauen handchuhen. Unten in Blau eien Kastenfähre.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 2, 1961.

The hat and gloves ar etaken from the arms of the locally important Johann Hemme (died 1703), whose statue can be seen in the village. The lower half symbolises the former ferry service over the Leine river.
