NO 784 SQUADRON, FAA

History: First formed in 1942 at Royal Naval air Station Lee-on-Solent as a Night Figther Training Unit.

English Black; base barry wavy of eight white and blue chief a bat gold breathing flames of fire proper issuant a torch gold inflamed proper.

Motto: Illumina tenebras

Origin/meaning

The Torch and Bat symbolises the Nigth Fighter Training Role. The Latin Motto translates as "Lighten our darkness". The Badge was approved on 21 July 1943.
