Official blazon
Slovak V červenom štíte zlatovlasá zlatokorunovaná svätica v striebornom rúchu a zlatom plášti, v pravici pred sebou držiaca veľkú zelenú palmovú ratolesť, ľavicou zlatú rukoväť veľkého strieborného skloneného meča.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 13, 1998.

The arms are based on the seal of the municipality from 1776. The local church is dedicated to St. Barbara, but several clues indicate that it could also be St. Catherine. The saint in the arms thus is not further named.

Literature: Kartous and Vrteľ, 2000
