English Gold; a saltire cross red charged with a spider gold.

Motto: Tentatu altingo

Origin/meaning

King Robert the Bruce of Scotland (1274-1329), Victor at Bannockburn in 1314. Legend recalls the part played by the Spider. The Latin motto translates as "By attempt i attain". The Badge was approved in 1919.
