Badge: Per fess Azure and Argent two pallets counterchanged, overall a sword between two lightning flashes all in bend sinister Or.
Motto: PUGNARE CONTRA RETICULA.
Origin/meaning
Blue and white (heraldic Argent) are the traditional colours of the Communications and Electronics Branch. The alternating pattern of the colours symbolizes the exchange of data and the idea of territory. This also represents the globe and the role played by CFNOC in its protection. The sword represents the roles of defence and the protection of networks against cyber-threats, while the lightning bolts indicate communication and electronic networks. Motto: Meaning “Fight the networks”. Original concept of Claire Boudreau, Chief Herald of Canada, assisted by the heralds of the Canadian Heraldic Authority.
The badge was approved on March 15, 2010.
