History: Formed 1922 as the 15th/19th Hussars by the amalgamation of the 15th The King's Hussars and 19th (Queen Alexandra's Own Royal) Hussars. In 1932 renamed 15th The King's Royal Hussars and in 1933 15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars. In 1992 amalgamated with the 13th/18th Royal Hussars (Queen Mary's Own) to form The Light Dragoons, British Army.
Official blazon
The Royal Crest within the Garter; attached to the lower portion of the Garter the Roman numerals "XV" and "XIX"; the lower ends of the numerals rest upon a scroll inscribed with the motto "Merebimur" (We shall be worthy). Royal Crest in silver plate. The Garter and numerals in gilt or gilding metal; motto in silver plate on a blue emamel ground. Other ranks as above but with Royal Crest in white metal, reminder in gilding metal.
