Official blazon

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The County Henneberg was a small county located in the present-day German states of Bayern and Thüringen. It existed as an independent territory from 1037-1310 as County and from 1310-1660 as a principality-county, when it was incorporated into Sachsen. The title was still used by the Kings of Prussia.

The arms are canting, showing a chicken (Henne) on a hill (Berg) and have been used since the 13th century.
