Origin/meaning

The arms show in chief a prehistoric grave monument, as many of these can be found in the area.

The wavy bends symbolise the Nord- and Mittelradde rivers. The wheat and acorn symbolise the agricultural character and forests/nature.

The colours are those of the State of Münster, to which the area belonged until 1803.
