Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 17, 1969.
The village became a possession of the Counts of the Pfalz in 1668 and the arms thus show the lion of the Pfalz in the upper half.
The lower half shows a birch (Birke) branch as a canting element. The 18th century seal of the village also showed a birch tree under a crown.
