Origin/meaning
The arms have been officially granted on 9th September 1991.
Canting arms: they show an "os" (Catalan for "bone"). The tree is a traditional sign of the arms of the town, and probably is derived from the canting arms of the Siscars, the lords of the castle of Os since 1553 until nowadays: these arms show a "siscall" (a wormleaf saltwort, a bushy plant whose scientific name is Salsola vermiculata) Vert on Or.
