SAARWELLINGEN
State : Saarland
District (Kreis) : Saarlouis
Additions : 1974 Reisbach, Schwarzenholz
German |
Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on September 22, 1976. The lion is taken from the old arms of Saarwellingen (see below). The wheel is taken from the arms of Schwarzenholt, and the circle with cross is a combination of elements from the former arms of Reisbach. The previous arms were granted on September 10, 1951. The arms are based on the old seal of the Lordship of Saarwellingen from 1695-1792.
