Origin/meaning
The municipality never had arms prior to 1974. The above arms were designed in 1994.
The village developed after draining of the moors in the early 20th century. The soils were very wet and horses thus used typical wooden shoes to be able to walk on the soil. This is shown in the upper part of the arms. The green symbolises the field, moors and forests. The division line symbolises the small sandy hills in the former moors.
The lower half shows the typical 'Green house', a former hunting refuge/hut from 1795 and thus by far the oldest structure in the village.
