COURCELLES-LÈS-LENS
Origin/meaningThe deer on the filed with fleur-de-lys is taken from the arms of the Anchin Abbey, to which the village historically belonged. The chief shows three merles, taken from the arms of the Beauffremez family, lords of the village from 1174-1403. The wavy chief refers to the former marshlands (drained in 1830).
