State : São Paulo

Angatuba.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 6, 1987.

The cross represents the chapel erected in 1862, around which the settlers built their home. The axes refer to the labour of the first settlers in clearing the area and building homes. The dove stands for the Holy Spirit, patron saint of the city.

The shield is surrounded by corn and rice branches, the main agricultural crops in the area.
