German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

OBERGLADBACH

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Rheingau-Taunus Kreis (until 1977 Untertaunuskreis)
Incorporated into : 1972 Schlangenbad

Wappen von Obergladbach

Official blazon

(de)

Origin/meaning

The arms are based on a design found on borderstones dating from the 18th century. The meaning of the three nails or pins is not known. Untul 1795 Obergladbach formed a jurisdiction with Niedergladbach and thus did not have its own seals. In 1795 a seal was made for Obergladbach, showing the H. Mary on a throne with Jezus on her lap and holding an orb.

The above arms were proposed in 1956, but I have no idea whether the arms were actually granted.
