German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

ELKERHAUSEN

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Limburg-Weilburg (until 1974 Oberlahnkreis)
Incorporated into : 1974 Weinbach

Wappen von Elkerhausen

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 31, 1961.

The arms are based on the arms of the Lords of Elkershausen, which had a large castle in the area in the late 12th century (mentioned in 1191), around which the village developed. Until its extinction in 1725 the family played a role in the village, especially until the 14th century.
