VICHTEN

Armoiries de Vichten

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 5, 1987.

Vichten historically was part of the Estate of Useldange. The oldest Lords of Useldange used arms with10 silver and red bars. Useldange (and the other possessions) were inherited by the Dukes of Baden in 1492 who held the Estate until 1709. The arms of Baden are shown as a pale in the arms. After 1709 the Estate became a possession of the Everlange family, who uses as arms in blue a bar of silver and on each side of the bar a golden star. These two stars are also added to the arms, which thus combine the arms of the three dynasties that ruled the area prior to 1792.
