De gemeente voerde geen eigen wapen.

De heerlijkheid Etersheim is in 1398 gevormd door graaf Albrecht van Holland-Beieren en in leen gegeven aan Gerrit van Heemskerk. Deze bezat op dat moment al de heerlijkheid Oosthuizen en beide heerlijkheden vormden samen een hoge heerlijkheid met gezamelijke jurisdictie. Een officieel wapen van Etersheim is niet bekend. Wel is er een zegel bekend van Etersem, met daarop een schild beladen met een zwaan, staande op een terras. De zwaan heeft voor zich nog een schild met onduidelijke voorstelling. Ook op de bodebus van de heerlijkheid, waarschijnlijk in de 18e eeuw vervaardigd, komt een wapen voor met een opvliegende zwaan. Het geheel is geplaatst in een Hollandse Tuin (zie Zuid Holland), hetgeen op een 17e eeuws wapen duidt. Het kan hier echter ook gaanom het wapen van het gelijknamige waterschap.
