Heraldic Cigarette and Tobacco Cards

This list will be updated regularly during 2009, with more backgrounds and images added.

Cigarette (tobacco) cards were especially popular in the US and the former British Empire (UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa...), and less in other countries. In many other countries the tobacco companies issued stamps rather than cards, and they often issued special albums for the stamps or cards (see the album section, for example Abdulla, Oldenkott...). In this section only series of cards (hard paper, cardboard, silk, stamps) issued by tobacco companies are described, for other companies, see the section trading cards, or for Postcard size cards see the postcard section (Ja-Ja cards).

Although over 15000 different series of cigarette cards are known, only a small number actually deals with heraldic items.

New : Many heraldic cigarette cards are available in the shop.
