    " In zilver 3 schaaktorens van sabel. Het schild gedekt door een gouden kroon van 3 bladeren en 2 parels; schildhouders : 2 omziende hazewindhonden van natuurlijke kleur, met halsbanden van keel, omboord van goud."

    Oorsprong/verklaring :
    Het is een sprekend wapen, schaaktorens heten ook wel bemmels. De familie van Bemmel, een belangrijke familie in de streek, voerde hetzelfde wapen.

    Het wapen is als familiewapen bekend vanaf 1551, waarop het is afgebeeld op een zegel van Alart van Bemmel. Ook in 1619 zegelt Thomas van Bemmel met dit wapen. De familie voerde de hazewindhond als helmteken, niet als schildhouders.
